Choose Real Christmas Wreaths This Festive Season

Christmas wreaths are a must for the festive season and they look absolutely beautiful when hung on doors. These days, more and more people are considering buying real Christmas wreaths as they are becoming concerned about the environment and the effect of their activities on our beautiful planet. Environmental issues are rising constantly and for this reason, people should adopt eco-friendly methods where possible. A great way in which people can help to save their environment this festive season is by making use of real wreathes other than the artificial ones.

Artificial wreathes are made from petroleum based products and plastic products. Since petroleum is not a renewable resource, people should not be motivated to buy these products. The demand for petroleum is increasing each day and soon this resource will become scarce depleted. Although artificial wreathes last for many years, they can have harmful effect on the environment in the long run. After using them for couple of years, they definitely end up in landfills where they stay for more than 5000 years.

However, when you use real Christmas wreaths, you help to save the landfills from getting filled and you also contribute towards environmental conservation. In order to make real wreathes, just the branches are cut off and these grow back after some time. Trees are not cut down to make them and therefore they are a renewable resource, even more than real Christmas trees.

In some places, there are special farms where they plant real Christmas trees and for each plant that they uproot, they plant 3 more to replace them. However, when wreathes are made, only about 18 inches of branches are cut and this is like pruning the trees where thicker and greener branches grow back. So when you are doing you’re shopping for the holiday season, make sure you lend a hand towards environmental conservation by choosing real trees and wreaths rather than the artificial ones.
